Child Safety

St. Mary’s Primary School is committed to ensuring the protection and safety of every child. The school is governed by the DOBCEL Child Safety policies and the school Child Safety Policy.

These policies are the overarching documents that provide key elements of our approach to protecting children from abuse.

As with all Victorian schools, we are required to follow the Victorian Child Safe Standards.

The safety and wellbeing of the children is paramount to the St. Mary’s ethos.

The school has a dedicated Child Safety Officer who has a vital role in maintaining child safety and wellbeing.

We welcome and encourage parents, caregivers, grandparents as well as those from the wider community to become engaged in our school community.

All volunteers, staff, and members of the School Advisory Council are required to sign the school's Code of Conduct

and provide the school with their current Working With Children Card.

Ministerial Order 1359 will be embedded in the culture of St. Mary’s Donald in July 2022.
