The Grade 5/6 students organised a ‘Schools Clean Up Day’ of the school and surrounding community environment.  All students participated, and, as a follow up activity, counted and recorded the types of waste collected. Students and staff were pleasantly surprised with the smaller amounts of rubbish collected in comparison to previous years.  ‘Schools Clean Up Day’ is a fun and engaging way to teach young Australians about the responsible disposal of rubbish,
resource recovery and the repercussions of rubbish dumped irresponsibly in the local environment.
