At the completion of 2017, St Mary’s School completed the ResourceSmart Schools Core Module  as part of Sustainablitiy Certification recognition and are now a 1Star ResourceSmart School-a great achievement!  Becoming a 1Star school recognises St Mary’s School commitment to creating sustainable practices. As parents you can support this program in a number of ways:
  • Please consider lunch packaging and avoid plastic wrap and pre-packed snacks.  Try to use lunch boxes with snack compartments or reusable bags or snack boxes.
  • We also encourage students to drink plenty of water, particularly on hot days and we encourage you to supply named, reusable water bottles that can be refilled at the taps, as this avoids wasting water at the bubbler taps.
  • Help recycle useful material.  The Art Room houses a recycling area for items such as: corks, plastic take-away food containers, cardboard boxes/ rolls (not toilet rolls), material, wool, buttons etc.  If you have access to other interesting items that you feel could be used in Visual Art or Technology, please contact the school office.
