Last Thursday, Michael Mangan, a religious singer for children came to our school for a concert. We invited St. Patricks from St. Arnaud, St. Joseph’s from Charlton and St.Mary’s from Sea Lake.
Michael Mangan came down from Brisbane to sing to all of the schools in Victoria and he did really well.
He was really interactive with the crowd and asked us to sing along with him. We knew some of the songs he sang but everyone learnt a few new ones as well.

Michael Mangan came here all the way from Brisbane to perform excellent songs for all students. We all enjoyed the songs and after an hour of singing Michael Mangan was rewarded presents and thanks from our school leaders, Luke and Simon, for coming here to our school and entertaining the students of all the schools. It was great fun!!!!!!!!!
JADE AND PETRIALast Thursday, July 21st, Michael Mangan (a religious music writer for children) performed in the Multi-Purpose Room. Michael performed in front of four schools, St.Mary’s-Donald, St.Patrick’s-St.Arnaud, St.Joseph’s-Charlton and St.Mary’s-Sea Lake. Including adults there was a total of about 200 people in the room; Mrs.Hogan didn’t know if everyone would fit! Michael came all the way from Brisbane to Donald on a tour to perform for everyone. He was a great performer and was very interactive with the crowd. He taught us how to sing his songs, and do the actions that go with his songs. All of his guitar playing was amazing and everybody had lots of fun.
At the end of the concert the students were allowed to ask Michael some questions. The students found out that Michael decided to make religious music to teach his students about God because he was a music teacher in a Catholic school. The audience of people also found out that he created ‘Hearts on Fire’ , his most popular song, for a conference in Sydney. Another thing the audience found out was that Michael had sticky-taped and rubber-banded a computer mouse to the back of his guitar to change the slides easily without having to have someone else controlling it!
All of the students and staff members had fun and the concert was brilliant! By Ian Rachinsky, Noah Slater and Simon Morgan. 😁
